Is the cake suitable for vegetarians?
Yes, the cake is suitable for vegetarians, but not vegans as it does
contain dairy products. Please note that some cakes can be decorated
with sugar craft flowers which contain gelatine.
Is the cake safe for people with nut allergies?
The sponge cake does not contain nuts, but is made in the same
production area as fruit cakes. Therefore we cannot guarantee
that your cake will not have come into contact with nuts at some point.
You will be able to collect the cake from your chosen outlet on the day requested.
How do I pay?
You can pay online when you place your order. Payment is made via Paypal and a credit/debit card will be required, unless you already have a Paypal account set up (which will just require your password).
Is it safe to pay online?
The Paypal site is a secure site and paying online is statistically safer than using your credit card in the High Street or carrying cash.
What will happen if I make a mistake with my order and need to make an alteration?
If there is a mistake or a change needs to be made, please contact us immediately. You can contact The Cake Gallery by email at cakes@thecakegallery.co.uk or by telephoning 0121 459 6690. We can be contacted between 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday and 9:00am to 4:00pm Saturdays.
Can I order something that is not in your online shop?
We make many designs not shown in our online shop. Please visit www.thecakegallery.co.uk if you would like to view other cakes in our range. We also make many one off designs according to our customers requirements. Cakes not featured in our online shop need to be ordered and collected directly from The Cake Gallery. You can contact us by calling in to The Cake Gallery, by telephone or by e-mail. Please see our contact details for the relevant information.
Is it easier to come in to The Cake Gallery to place my order?
We do like to meet our customers but the ordering process is designed to take all the information required to make your cake. Ordering online gives you the advantage of being able to place your order from the comfort of your own home at a time convenient to you.
Where should I store the cake?
Your celebration cake should be kept in a cool place, away from direct sunlight. Do not put the cake in or on a fridge or freezer. Once the cake has been cut, store it in an airtight container or cover the cut sides with
cling film.
How much notice do I need to give?
For Sponge Cakes: You will need to place your order with a
minimum of 3 working days notice. Working days are Monday to Friday
(not including bank holidays).
If there is a shop where you can pick your cake up from, you will need to
select which cake you require.
How can I place an order?
You will need to make sure that there is an outlet where you will be able
to collect your cake from. Please look at the list of shops to see if there
is a shop convenient for you.
If a colour is required for the cake please choose the colour you would like
from the drop down list of colours available.
Type the inscription you would like written on the cake in the inscription
box, making sure you do not exceed the maximum number of characters allowed.
Payment will be requested at this point.
Proceed with your order by filling out the additional information form (give time for the form to open), confirming the shop you will be collecting your cake from and giving us the date your cake will be collected. (Please bear in mind the opening times of the shop you have chosen).
You will receive confirmation from us when we have received your order.

How long will the cake last?
sponge cake is best consumed within 4 days of purchase.
Do you only deliver to these shops?
At the moment we are only able to deliver cakes to selected shops in the West Midlands area.
